We’ve had our buildings in some pretty incredible places, but Rockefeller Center in New York City is at the top of our list. One of our She Sheds was recently featured on The Today show, proving that a Tuff Shed building is a great fit anywhere.
The day of the show was a flurry of activity. Our team was allowed to start work after midnight, so at 12:01 AM they got right down to business. Rather than building onsite like usual, we transported the She Shed from our factory in Louisville directly to 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The 7×12 Sundance Series TR-800 featured a residential style front door, a custom dormer, and an upgraded 10/12 roof pitch. Breaking with tradition, our Louisville factory team also finished the inside of the shed with lap siding and laminate flooring.
The first step was to move the building into place from the trailer to the plaza. Next, interior designer Jacin Fitzgerald worked to further beautify the She Shed. With a Northeastern Nautical theme, it was a picture perfect display. All the décor items in the She Shed can be found at The Home Depot or on www.homedepot.com.
While this display looked great in Rockefeller Center, both the Tuff Shed and Home Depot teams decided it could look even better in a backyard. So they chose one audience member to win both the She Shed and its contents.
Marti McKeon Townsend from Knoxville, TN was the lucky winner of the She Shed. After telling Today Show hosts about her husband’s takeover of the garage and backyard shed in addition to his Man Cave, it was her time to have her own space. And on top of it all, Marti was in New York celebrating her birthday. Quite the birthday surprise!
